Redhorse Corporation has a career opportunity for a Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) I supporting a military client in Dugway, UT. The Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) will provide comprehensive energy management services to reduce energy consumption and costs. The REM shall work towards accomplishing the energy goals by supporting facility repair and construction activities, including providing design review comments; project management support; identification of energy savings projects, construction coordination and oversight; and other support activities to ensure that energy efficiency measures and water conservation measures are incorporated into new construction, Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) projects, Utility Energy Services Contract (UESC) projects, Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP) projects, Facilities Repair and Renovations (FRR) projects, and other energy funded- projects such as the Army Energy and Utility Program (QUTM).
In addition, REM support services shall include the promotion, education, and adoption of energy and water resources conservation and management activity assistance necessary to optimize the use of installation utility resources, including but not limited to natural gas, coal, electricity, water, and wastewater
Primary duties will focus on energy management, including program management services, but work will also include:
Conducting energy audits
Energy project planning
Identifying and implementing energy conservation measures
Energy data analysis
Developing energy efficiency improvements for facilities
Walking facilities daily to conduct energy audits, identify energy conservation opportunities, and develop projects
Providing energy training
Performing design reviews
Recommending improvements to energy and utility procurement operations and maintenance
Supporting construction of energy projects
Other related duties
Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials for the Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) I include:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, and 3 years of related experience.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
Three (3) years of experience in energy and facility management or engineering.
Strong knowledge of utility information systems, metering, mechanical and lighting systems, and federal energy requirements and programs.
Experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, and building/facility operations.
Understanding of project programming, funding, and implementation at Department of Defense installations.
Experience using the suite of Energy Star Portfolio Manager tools.
Experience supporting the development and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy project using alternative financing mechanisms, including ESPC, UESC, ERCIP, FRR and QUTM.
Previous Army, Marine, Navy, or other federal facilities is a plus.
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification required[TC1] .
Well-developed verbal and technical report writing skills.
Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
US Citizenship is required.
Ability to pass a government-administered background investigation in order to be granted a Common Access Card and access to government IT systems.
The work environment for this position requires an individual to be able to:
Work sitting or standing at a desk or conference table for extended periods of time with the ability to shift positions while working: sit, stand, pace, adjust positioning in any of those without issue
Walk in the office to collaborate with co-workers, attend meetings or retrieve documents from printers or other peripheral devices
Candidates for this position must be able to work in changing physical conditions:
in extreme climatic conditions and rapidly changing temperatures;
must be able walk over long distances and across of variety of terrains, including uneven surfaces;
must be able to climb, jump, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl;
must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs across a distance of as much as 30 yards;
must be able to work with minimal supervision;
must be able to use GPS technology and read maps
